Per usual, we’ve got your back! Whether you’re easing into your fitness routine or playing extra hard in the ALTR Shred (that’s 15 sweaty sessions in 31 days), here are FIVE quick tips to finish the month feeling strong af:

Stretch: Arrive 5 to 15 minutes before class to loosen up and stretch out – and you can make friends while you’re at it. We like to spend the last few minutes of each ALTR session cooling down and stretching as group, but you’re more than welcome to hang out a little longer. If you need spread out with some resistance bands, rock around on a foam roller, or just chill in child’s pose. We’re here for it!

Hydrate: Take your body weight and multiply that by TWO. That’s how many ounces of water you should be drinking PER day, if you’re active – and especially in this humidity! Challenge yourself to drink one bottle of water during class and one bottle after. We’re big fans of hydration, because we know it’s the key to feeling your best and having your most effective workout.

Fuel: Some of our friends like to use ALTR SHRED as an excuse to do a full-fledged Whole 30 detox (no sugar, no dairy, no gluten, no alcohol, no excuses, for at least 30 days). If that’s your thing, #hellsyes! If not, try giving up or starting up one food group for the remainder of the month (think: yes to daily fruit, greens or increased water intake – or – no to alcohol, dairy, fast burning carbs or sodas). You are what you eat, right?

Rest: You should be getting 7 to 9 hours, especially if you’re one of our early-birds who needs to survive a full workday after a tough workout. Naps are cool, too. Your muscles recover and build while at rest. Sleep up!

Center: Where’s your head at? Join us for yoga after or in place of traditional ALTR sesh, to calm your spirit, muscles and mind. No matter where you are in your journey, you’re exactly where you’re supposed to be.
